IMPORTANT LICENSING INFO:

  • Once you send your Onboarding Email, you will receive up to 3 Docusign emails.

You MUST complete ALL Docusign emails AND receive Onboarding Approval from the office prior to starting work.

  • Sections 2, 3, and 4 include info you will need to get started.

SECTION 2: Next Steps and How to Get Licensed

YOU WILL RECEIVE up to 3 more emails from Docusign or Intuit.

A. Are you an official employee?

In order to become a legal employee of iTech you must COMPLETE ALL DocuSign or Intuit emails ASAP - this will ensure you are set up on the Time Tracking Software so you don't miss any hours.

B. Did you download the app?

Do not attempt to log in to the Quickbooks Workforce App until you receive an invitation from Quickbooks Workforce to begin Tracking your time the day before work begins. Accept and set up your App from the invitation email, only.

C. Are you a Licensed Electrician? How to get licensed:

If you are not licensed, you MUST be licensed prior to starting any electrical work. The DOPL application is included in the Docusign.

ALL required fields and optional boxes MUST BE CHECKED on both Docusigns.

D. How do you know if you're licensed?

Once they are completed, as a courtesy, we will do our best to complete the online application process for you. You will receive all emails and future licensing information from DOPL - we do not have access to anything after the application.

There is a $116 DOPL State Fee that will be deducted from your first or second check.

SECTION 3: TOOLS

We want to make sure you get off to an easy and safe start, so we’ve put together a list of the tools you’ll need to get started as an electrician, if you don’t already have them. These are hand tools…you’ll be working with power tools, as well, so be sure you’re familiar with the Safety Handbook you read through and signed.

TOOL LIST

(It takes time to build this entire list. You can purchase a small apprentice kit at Winsupply - it is inexpensive and has some of the basics)

Romex Wire strippers

Needle nose pliers

Flathead screwdriver

Philips screwdriver

Hammer

Level

Tape measure

Lineman pliers

Utility Knife

Tester

Gloves

Safety goggles

Tool bag

Brand recommendation: We strongly recommend that you purchase your tools from the local electrical supply house rather than home improvement stores. (Winlectric is our supplier in St George - they will help you get the exact tools you need at 298 Industrial Rd.)

SECTION 4: FAQs

Q: Am I required to have transportation?

A: Due to the nature of construction and the number of jobs you will be working on over time, you are required to have your own reliable transportation to and from each job, each day. Carpooling/ride sharing is not acceptable in this trade due to the varying demand of the job location and individual schedule.

Q: How much experience do you need to become an electrician?

A: We hire apprentices with no experience for on-the-job training as well as experienced apprentices and journeyman electricians. Your pay rate is based on your experience.

Q: Is there a trial period for new employees?

A: Yes - There is a 2 week trial period for all new and returning employees

Q: Will I have a set schedule?

A: Your hours may vary slightly from day to day, but our general schedule is:

Mon-Thur 9 hours

Friday - 4 hours

You will be told where to go daily. It is your responsibility to ensure you arrive to the job on time and know where to go before the day begins.
